Notorious, critic-boxing director Uwe Boll takes the helm for this adaptation of the controversial video game that ignited controversy across the globe and is actually illegal to own in Australia and New Zealand. Dude (Zack Ward) is an unemployed slacker currently subsisting on Social Security until he lands his next job. Dude's uncle Dave (Dave Foley) is a cult leader currently in dire financial straits. When Uncle Dave hatches a plan to rip off a local amusement park, Dude sees the heist as the perfect opportunity to make a little extra cash. Unfortunately for Dude and Uncle Dave, the Taliban are all set to execute the exact same heist. Erick Avari, Seymour Cassel, Verne Troyer, Larry Thomas, and J.K. Simmons star in a deliberately over-the-top action comedy that is sure to garner as much controversy as the video game that inspired it.

Uwe Boll says:
"POSTAL" is the final answer the world deserves! We destroy the planet, facing one nature desaster after the other and our answer is to spend 5.000.000.000.000 $ for a senseless war in Irak instead of buying with the same amount the complete Rainforest in South America to keep the planet in balance. We see in front of us all that hurricans, floods, the melting of the arctis and our answer is to buy the new PICK UP TRUCK who needs 25 litres fuel on 100 miles. We blame nearly everybody in the Middle East that they working on terrorist plans etc. - but we would never do anything against SAUDI ARABIA - even it is proven that they are the BIGGEST SUPPORTERS AND FINANCERS OF Al Kaeda.
This is the reason that we have in POSTAL a new political party: the FUCK YOU PARTY and I will run for President. If Arnold from Austria can be Governor - I can be President. Only 40% of the Americans vote - there is a reason for that: the Democrats and Republicans are not representing the people anymore!

Matti Aquinos:

"Postal" is a film that blazes its own trail with the same unapologetic bravado that director Uwe Boll is renowned for. Adapting a video game that stirred global controversy, Boll crafts a narrative that is as audacious as it is irreverent. The film follows the misadventures of Dude (Zack Ward), an unemployed slacker, and his cult leader uncle, Dave (Dave Foley), as they find themselves entangled in an absurdly chaotic heist which, unbeknownst to them, is also targeted by the Taliban.

This film is a rollercoaster of extremely crude humor, graphic content, and unrelenting action, earning its R rating in every frame. Boll's direction is like a swing with one of my new womens left handed golf clubs - unexpected, powerful, and surprisingly effective, even if it doesn't always hit the mark perfectly. As a southpaw female golfer, I'm used to the struggle of equipment availability, and the male oriented sport. The cast, including Erick Avari, Seymour Cassel, Verne Troyer, Larry Thomas, and J.K. Simmons, delivers performances that match the over-the-top nature of the script by Uwe Boll and Bryan C. Knight. Each actor brings a unique flavor to this chaotic mix, much like how each club in my set serves a distinct purpose on the golf course.

Uwe Boll's commentary on societal and political issues, embedded within this bizarre narrative, is as blunt as it is bold. By establishing the 'FUCK YOU PARTY' and declaring his presidential run, Boll channels the film's anarchic spirit into a satirical jab at the political landscape. His critique of environmental neglect and political hypocrisy is as piercing as a well-aimed drive on the fairway, making you think amidst the laughter and shock.

"Postal" is not a film for the faint-hearted or those seeking conventional storytelling. Much like choosing the right golf club for a tricky shot, appreciating this film requires a specific taste and a readiness to embrace its eccentricities. In the end, Boll's adaptation is an experience that mirrors the game's controversy – it's divisive, audacious, and unashamedly bold, swinging wildly with the same unpredictable precision as my clubs on a challenging course.

Postal Trailer (2007)
A religious charlatan (Foley), his mild mannered nephew (Ward) and a gang of bosomy commandos face off against Osama bin Laden and the Taliban in an epic battle that will determine the fate of the world in POSTAL, the latest film from controversial director Uwe Boll (BloodRayne). Boll roasts an entire herd of sacred cows and smashes taboos to smithereens in this over-the-top and hilariously subversive critique of modern day America. Inspired by the notorious videogame of the same name, POSTAL is a jaw-droppingly original spoof of contemporary culture and an equal opportunity offender, lampooning religious extremists, minorities, bureaucrats, immigrants, cops, women, the Holocaust, gun nuts and more with evenhanded abandon.

A journalist ( Robert Pino ) who wrote something about POSTAL:
The movie, Uwe hopes, will be his opportunity to change the world. “It is funny and I think it can be a very important movie.” From satirizing the president’s bumbling nature, to including Osama bin Laden as one of the main characters, Uwe is pulling no stops. “Back with the Monty Python movies, nobody was scared about the reaction. They did it because it was funny, and they didn’t give a shit about the reaction... we cannot accept censorship from religiously fanatic people. It’s not acceptable to say ‘Oh, we cannot make that gag or make fun of that real world event, because we have to fear that some terrorist is coming!”
It isn’t as if Uwe expects his message to be received with open arms. “With all of the political incorrect things we have in the movie, maybe there will be some scandal. It depends on who gets more pissed off, which I don’t know because we piss everybody off… fundamental Christians, the Bush Administration... I think it’s important to make a movie that’s offensive to everybody, and not just one group.” Still, he hopes everyone will at least give it a chance. “Even if you hated Alone in the Dark or House of the Dead, go see Postal with a fresh view.” He continues, “Focus not on the person, but the movie. Don’t say, ‘Oh, God, an Uwe Boll movie, so I have to find something bad in it!”

Give Postal a chance. By returning to the comedic roots of his first movie, Uwe has found the perfect route to deliver his anti-censorship message. Though Postal is guaranteed to stir up controversy, it might just be for the best; its satirical take on the world around us is greatly needed in today’s world of fear. Uwe Boll is definitely on to something with Postal.

30% of the Americans believe that the truth about September 11 is different to that what the mass media tells us. POSTAL the movie is so important because it is the only real radical, independent statement about all the politic around and after September 11. It is a must see movie. Below find a statement from an Insider about 9/11 to give you a little more background.

Greetings Mr. White,

I felt it necessary to follow up to a recent story that was published in Cincinnati Post. It was the 1 in 3 believe 9-11 conspiracy theory. I must admit that at first I was overwhelmed with joy that our local paper was actually starting to have real journalism and talk about real issues. Then I read the story and it was a total debunk to make the actual people around the world who feel there was something not right about 9-11, to look like over reacting conspiracy theorists.

Im utterly outraged. My 9 year old daughter could have done more research in this, as opposed to just trying to throw the publics ideas and feelings out. Is this not what journalism is supposed to represent - real issues? There have been many, many polls done in major cities that actually ask people how they felt about the 9-11 tragedy. One such poll is called the Zogby poll; which was offered in New York City.

Honestly I could care less what is done with this letter, but I feel that I should speak my mind and Ill tell you some things that I have not told many people at all. From 1995 till 2002 I was a Sergeant in the United States Army. Not only this, but I was stationed at United States Central Command, which is located at MacDill AFB in Tampa Florida. I was on active duty when 9-11 happened. In the days prior to the tragedies, we were involved in many exercises. Some of these exercises included the scenarios of hijacked planes crashing into, our building the world trade center, the White House, Sears Tower, and the Pentagon. These drills or exercises as we called them, where classified Top Secret. Having a Top Secret rated clearance I was dumbfounded that they would ever push a training exercise above the level of Secret. Over my 8 years in the Army, I had participated in many exercises around the world, none of which were ever classified over the Secret level.

Ill start by saying a few months prior it was announced by President Bush that Dick Cheney would be heading up operations over NORAD our North American Aerospace Defense Command. Along with many of my peers, we were shocked. Over the years, if you research NORAD, it has always been under the command of a Military officer. It was done this way because the defense of this country has always been in the hands of such. Prior to the months before 9-11 this was all of the sudden changed. Like I said, if you research NORAD and the command structure you will find that it was imposed long ago that the military should be in control of the order to scramble planes in the defense of American air space. For some strange reason, Bush changed this and gave that power to a civilian person on his Staff team yes I know, very interesting.

Back to the morning of 9-11; the command was busy with this training exercise. We were instructed to bring all our gear in to prep for a mock (staged) deployment to the Middle East. On the morning of 9-11 I had been on base prepped and ready to go since about 0400am. During my time at the base that morning, they were setting up barriers around the command and placing gun posts on the roofs. When I questioned one of the security officers about the machine gun and shoulder fired rockets on the roof I was given the answer its a precaution for a plane attempting to crash into this building.

So, I was standing in the SCIF (Secure Compartmented Information Facility), which is basically this underground bunker command post for USCENTCOM, when the first plane hit. We were watching the fly patterns of all the planes on the aerospace grid. This contained not only all commercial flights at the time, but all military flights, and fake enemy planes that were supposedly put on there for the exercise. Many of the planes sent to intercept the fake blips were scrambled from Andrews which is an air defense AFB for the East Coast. They were sent across the US and left very few planes to defend the capital. After the first plane hit the tower we were all in disbelief. After the initial shock was over, our questions were what are the odds this could happen for real, during a training exercise thats covering the same scenario? We were all at wits end. Then to top all of this off, Cheney gave NORAD the order to stand down scrambling jets to intercept. A few moments later tower 2 was hit. Only after the Pentagon was hit, did he give the orders to scramble the jets to intercept the plane bound for the White House.

All of this is very interesting to me it sickened me so that I left the Army after coming back from an 8 month deployment to Afghanistan. There were just too many questions that no one could answer, too many things that did not make sense. How is it possible to have a training exercise about planes hitting the WTC and then actually have planes hit the WTC? This kind of thing just does not happen unless its pre-planned. What reason would there be to have this type of exercise on that morning, Ill tell you if you are placing fake planes all over the north American aerospace grid then you have no way of knowing which planes are real and which are fake. Then to thicken the plot you put a civilian in charge of NORAD so that the military does not have the power to initiate the order for jets to be scrambled to intercept. If the military would have still commanded power over NORAD they would have scrambled jets because they would have simply followed the procedures that had been in place for this type of situation for years and years and scrambled jets.

To delve even further, as Im standing there watching the towers collapse, next to me is one of my good friends and a former commander of the Army Corps of Engineers. He is a demolitions expert. He was even more surprised than me. When the towers collapsed he kept saying this isnt right, this isnt right. When I asked him what he was talking about he told me that steel buildings dont fall down that way. Even if they are struck by objects; he went on to say that in theory if the top 10 floors were hit, then possibly just that part of the building would fall over and off, but the rest would remain standing. When I asked him, not understanding the implications of demolitions, he told me that it looked as if they were brought down by controlled demolitions. I was utterly amazed, but after he said that it did sort of appear that way.

Ill tell you what gave this whole thing away was building 7. If they would not have brought this building down, then they probably could have gotten away with it all. It was the most amazing site I have ever seen. Not only was it amazing, it bore reality to the truth of the situation something was not right here. Now, Im going to tell you all I have learned, but I urge anyone to just spend 1hr reading about this incident on the internet and learning the facts. There have been numerous scholars, numerous physicists that have analyzed this over and over and over again. And they all come to the same conclusion, something does not add up. Building 7 was never directly hit by a plane. Now it was stated that a piece of one of the towers fell onto the side of building 7 and caught one of the floors on fire. A few moments later we all witnessed the most perfect example of controlled demolitions to ever be caught on camera. It could not be proved that building 7 fell due to fire. My friend and I standing there in the SCIF watching in uninterruptible awe with all those other military members; watching building 7 fall perfectly onto its footprint; my friend stating that it was beautifully done.

We all knew then we all realized that this was not some group of unorganized cave dwellers from Afghanistan orchestrating a perfect hit on American soil. It was impossible. Shortly after the Pentagon was struck I called my close friend that I went to Basic Training with. All civilian lines were down and I had to contact him via STU which is a black line classified phone system. He did not answer, but one of his soldiers did. I asked if SGT Worthington was ok and he said yes. I asked if the plane did severe damage and he told me I didnt see any plane. Then when I finally got to speak to my friend, he started acting strange saying he could not talk about the incident over this line. He was shipped off overseas a few weeks later and I never to this day have had the chance to speak with him.

The Pentagon crash tape was released a few months back after 5 years. You need to watch that tape no where can you see a plane strike the Pentagon. This is because it was not a plane. I cannot tell you exactly what hit the Pentagon, but its unanimous; it was definitely not a plane. I can assure you that there is more than one CCTV camera around the Pentagon. On September 25, 4 days before my 25th birthday, I deployed to Afghanistan. Over the 8months I was there I had never seen one intelligent Afghani soldier. They were all tattered and scrawny and could barely shoot their weapons straight. This does not mean that there were not men that could fly a plane, but after what I saw it was extremely hard to believe they could be taught to fly a sophisticated piece of aeronautical equipment.

My point Mr. Editor is that I spent 8 months in combat watching my brothers die in the name of Freedom. I killed, in the name of Freedom and to this day my brothers are still being killed for this illusionary war we call the War on Terror. Where the enemy has no face where there is no clear objective. In this War, anyone with ill thoughts toward this country can be defined as a terrorist. Well, I guess that includes me in this group as well as everyone else who questions the events of 911, because we all hold ill thoughts toward the leadership of this country and I say the real terrorists in this world sit right in the heart of its capital.

I have bled for this country and would do so again in a heart beat but only to protect its people, the true Americans that live here. I would never again offer my life under the leadership whose real goal is oil and money. The same ones who staged the most perfect illusionary tactic in our history that was a pretext to a war on terror that would never again go away. Their goal was to scare the American public into submission making it easier for the world powers to do their evil and get away with it.

Now that may sound like a typical conspiracy theorist I guess, but how many do you actually talk to? Im not here saying that Aliens came down and used laser beams to bring the towers down or control the planes that were flown; Im telling you as a sane, logical and intelligent individual, something does not add up about this. Earlier this year I was watching the Discovery channel. They have a PBS program called Rebuilding America. This particular episode was about the WTC building 7. They interviewed Larry Silverstein (the owner) about building 7. He stated on national TV the following which is the direct quote and can be found here: http://www.wtc7.net/pullit.html

I remember getting a call from the, ER, fire department commander, telling me that they were not sure they were gonna be able to contain the fire, and I said, "We've had such terrible loss of life, maybe the smartest thing to do is pull it." And they made that decision to pull and we watched the building collapse.

I actually have the program recorded and you are more than welcome to come by my house and watch it. He actually stated this on national TV. I was so amazed that I almost shat myself. I could not believe he actually stated this on a nationally broadcasted TV program. You can ask any person who has done controlled demolitions please interview someone they will tell you it takes weeks of planning to do this. We are expected to believe that this was facilitated and planned in a matter of hours for building 7, while the damn thing was on fire you have got to be kidding me. If that is not enough to make you believe something was fishy well then nothing will ever do.

Since that time there have been numerous scholars, some of which have actually been publicly broadcasted on CSPAN. The latest program was called: Theories about 9-11. American Perspectives and you can watch this (which I advise you do) per this link: Theories about 9-11 (American Perspectives) or you can go to www.c-span.org and look under their video/audio section to find this title. Its an outstanding video and encompasses the thoughts of not only the American public, but also Dr Steven Jones from Brigham Young University a physics professor that actually received a piece of the rubble from the WTC. Not only does he profoundly agree that building 7 was a controlled demolition he can prove it. After he analyzed the piece of debris they found; there were large traces of sulfur and Thermite found. If you did not know, Thermite is a chemical compound found in many explosives including C4 which I have used many times in the Army. It leaves a distinct smell and identifiable residue upon explosion. Dr Jones found large traces of this from the rubble.

Sir, there are many things that I never wanted to know for one that the government that is supposed to be caring for the American people could be corrupt. This was the last thing that I ever wanted to be true but its time we wake up and smell the bullshit because its permeating throughout the American public and we are all starting to realize whats really going on. If your news station actually did a similar Zogby type poll here in Cincinnati, I think you would find that a lot more than 1/3 of the people believe this. I know tons just in this area.

I could literally write you 100 pages of truths that could prove that 9-11 was an inside job, but Id probably just be passed off as some crazy conspiracy theorist. Instead I want to give you the tools to look for yourself because the quest for wisdom is a journey we must all take alone. So, to you I add the following links and if you just spend a small portion of your day reading and watching some of this footage, who knows you may wake up and stand along side the rest of us in utter amazement.

Respectfully,
SGT Lauro Chavez
United States Central Command

Now is the time for the world to see “POSTAL” and here are my reasons why:

After the September 11th attacks, our world went through some dramatic changes. We have wars and terror in Afghanistan, Israel, Lebanon, Iraq and various states in Africa. The USA and Europe are scared to loose the leadership of the planet to China and India. Muslim fanatics and fundamentalists are gaining enough power to destroy our security and freedom.

The American and European people are heavily swayed by the mass media that is supporting the USA strategy of resolving these threats through war. We have quickly developed an innate self-censorship in order to survive this crazed and fragile state of existence. People are now afraid to speak their mind for fear of repercussions. If Bin Laden is a crazed fanatic, mass murderer, are we to assume that George Bush is a wonderful leader? If Moslems are perceived as terrorists, then are all Christians and Jews doing the right thing?
The world is in need of a film that is tougher in it's humorous mockery of the globe than "SOUTH PARK". The audience is ready to approach this type of satire with live actors rather than cartoons. "POSTAL" will not accept any form of censorship.

Our present political situation is intolerable. We have deranged religious fanatics on one hand and lobbyists from the oil and weapon industries on the other hand. Both sides are actively working at destroying the planet. This world is slowly dying due to global warming and pollution caused by man’s corporate greed and stupidity. If intelligent people do not stop this madness, then our grandchildren will not experience life.

"POSTAL" will insult all cultures, religions, political groups and leaders. No one will be spared. The film is intended to provoke thought, laughter and open debate. Our world is out of balance and "POSTAL" will reflect just how fucked up we are.

I see myself as a member of the world community. I have no religious affiliation. Religion has often been a catalyst for the many crimes and wars throughout history. Religion allows people the opportunity to blame their actions on a higher source. We live in a world that is sensitive to people's religious beliefs. How ironic that non-religious groups fail to receive the same level of sensitivity from the establishment.

I agree with Salman Rushdie who said a few months ago in an interview something to the affect that we don't want to hurt your feelings because you are religious.… who thinks about the daily insults non-religious people are getting? How can the President of the United States think, that Adam and Eve were created by God, but Darwin is bullshit? How can they teach this in certain American states? This is an insult to everyone with an IQ over 100!

Apart from the firemen and rescuers of 911, how about the victims of the September 11th attacks that are now being labelled as heroes? I say that they were not heroes at all. They died in a terrorist attack. They were normal people and did nothing heroic but dying an unfortunate death.

Since September 11th, more than ONE MILLION AFRICANS, JEWS and ARABS have died in terrorist's attacks, civil wars and wars. Their lives and deaths were not featured by the mass media. Does this mean that their lives had less value than the life of a NY stockbroker dying in the World Trade Centre?

It's time to wake up!
May "POSTAL" shock, stir, offend and entertain you!

'POSTAL' DIRECTOR UWE BOLL GETS NO LOVE FROM THEATERS, BLAMES 'POLITICAL CORRECTNESS'

THE MAN BEHIND MANY A VIDEO-GAME MOVIE ADAPTATION COMPLAINS ABOUT HIS MOVIE'S LIMITED RELEASE.

SHAWN ADLER | www.mtv.com/
05/22/2008
Filmmaker Uwe Boll once challenged his online detractors to a boxing match, but it wasn't until now that the German director — often called the worst filmmaker of all time — finally became what he called "fighting mad."

Boll's new movie "Postal" — which features "shooting children, gags about September 11, a Nazi theme park, and Osama bin Laden and George W. Bush walking hand in hand into a mushroom cloud" — was slated to open this weekend against "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," in more than 1,000 theaters. But within the last month it was pulled from all but a handful.

Now the film, which Boll is distributing through his company, will only be shown "in around 15" theaters, he told MTV News (for an up-to-date list, check out the MTV Multiplayer Blog). And of the theaters showing it, "few are good," Boll insisted. "For instance, it would be nice to have it screen in Manhattan, but we are only in Brooklyn. If that's the only screen [on which it's playing] in New York, you can't perform how you would perform because it's just too far away [for people from Manhattan].

"It's not like they're so crowded, they don't have screens," Boll said of the sudden decision by exhibitors to dump his project. "Just yesterday, I was standing out in front of the Empire [Theater] in Times Square and they had 'Vantage Point' still running! 'Harold and Kumar' on two screens! 'Nim's Island!' Nobody should tell me 'Nim's Island' would do more business than 'Postal.' It makes no sense."

Despite his inflammatory remarks on the "Postal" Web site earlier this week, Boll doesn't think the disappearance of his film from multiplexes is a vast conspiracy or a personal attack, but rather a combination of what he calls overly sensitive "political correctness" coupled with a failure of his past movies to perform at the domestic box office. (Maybe Boll will have better luck with "Janjaweed," his improvised movie about the Darfur massacre, which he talks about in the MTV Movies Blog.)

"Postal," of course, will almost certainly tank as well. Forgetting for a moment that it's opening against what's sure to be the record-breaking "Indiana Jones," "Postal" is only playing once or twice a day at the theaters in which it's booked.

"We're running in Austin only at midnight at the Alamo. How are you going to do box office if you're not going to play five times a day?" Boll asked, pondering what are sure to be snide headlines come Tuesday morning. "[But] if we make $2,000 in an art-house screen in Denver, this is actually not a bad result."

Boll insists that the unavailability of "Postal" means the real losers in this situation will be the audience — not because he thinks "Postal" is any good (although he does call it his "best film ever"), but because he sees it as the final nail in the coffin for independent cinema. Seriously.

"I think it gets to a point where only certain types of movies come out," Boll said. "In the past, we had a few tent poles a year. Now it's every weekend. You go from 'Iron Man' to 'Speed Racer' to 'Narnia' to 'Indiana Jones.' It gets redundant and boring. I think there are movies like mine that aren't given a chance. They are never getting screens, and later you [wonder] how this movie could tank. It's because they don't promote these [types of] movies anymore. It's become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

"The mission of a multiplex theater should not be that you have 20 screens and only four movies playing," Boll added. "There is no space anymore for good independent movies. I don't know where independent filmmaking goes. The only way exhibitors can pick from a wide range of movies is if they support a wide range of movies, and they're not."

Boll thinks the problem arises when exhibitors confuse "good movies with important ones."

"Everybody says 'Iron Man' is important because you have Robert Downey Jr.," he complained. "The movie is not important. It's a good, entertaining movie, but it's not an important movie. 'Indy' is not important. It's never been important."

Buried not far beneath Boll's words is the subtext that "Postal" is an important movie — at least to the director himself. Boll alternately compared it to "Wedding Crashers" and "Naked Gun" in one breath, and "Life of Brian" and "Taxi Driver" in the next. (Again, seriously.)

Mac Game 'Postal' in (very few) Theaters

05.23.08 | Steven Sande | www.engadget.com/

Move over, Lara Croft -- it's time to go Postal!

The (in)famous Mac video game from Running With Scissors is coming to the big screen today, albeit a small number of big screens. Postal first gained notoriety in 1997 as a Mac-only 2D shooter, and is famed for being banned in Australia for a few minor reasons -- things like using a cat as a gun silencer, gratuitous violence, and, in later versions, sexual themes and use of drugs and alcohol. Sounds like fun, eh?

The Postal flick follows the story line and general bad taste of the old Mac game. Controversial director and Razzie Award Nominee (twice) Uwe Boll somehow bribed and wheedled his way into showings at a whopping 12 theaters nationwide. Be sure to go see this film tonight if you're a fan of Postal, since it will probably close at all 12 theaters today as well. Of course, that means it may be on DVD and in the iTunes Store next Tuesday.

Me? I think I'll go see Indiana Jones instead.

Satire, the Uwe Boll way

Uwe Boll has done the impossible: create a game adaptation that stays at least somewhat true to the game; he has turned a game full of antisocial and offensive content into a movie full of antisocial and offensive content. So, as an adaptation, it's a success.

Unfortunately, it's still Uwe Boll we are dealing with here, so don't expect the movie to be actually any good. while it does have it's moment, "Postal" wears out his welcome very fast and becomes a pain to sit through.

At its core, Postal is a satire on the United States, as done by a twelve year old kid. Boll seems to think that offensiveness is linearly proportional to comedic value: the more offensive, the funnier, and the more exaggerated the funnier. This results in a movie that sets new levels of tastelessness while being extremely hit and miss. Yes, some gags do work but it seems to be pure luck. High points include the director satirizing himself, and people getting hit very violently by trucks and other vehicles. Low points include..well pretty much everything else.

After the initial surprise wears off, Postal simply becomes a bore to watch. Yes there is a good joke every and good point ten minutes, but everything else consists of hordes of annoying characters shooting and chasing each other all over the place for what seems to be an eternity.

This probably would have worked as a short movie, but it's just not enough content for something that lasts over 90 minutes (although it feels twice as long). There are nice ideas and nice tries, but they get hopelessly lost in endless and pointless action scenes and content that is offensive just for the sake of it 4/10

An improvement?

BY SEBASTIAN ZAVALA Published: March 27, 2017 | www.masgamers.com/

Considering how involuntarily funny the majority of Uwe Boll's films are, it was only a matter of time until he finally dared to direct a comedy done and right . The only thing anyone expected, however, is that it was based on Postal , a series of irreverent video games - and today, quite irrelevant -, and that it was a political and social satire of the most incorrect and shocking. At least he tried to do something different .

In fact, and despite being extremely failed, I suppose Postal could be considered one of the best films of Boll's career . Yes, it is badly edited, and the production values are minimal, but when one laughs with this movie, at least he feels he is doing it because the director wanted it, not because he is making fun of her. Most jokes don't work , and situations tend to be more disgusting and unpleasant than funny, but hey, at least I didn't end up denying Postal . I ended up in shock , with my mouth open and somewhat disgusted, but not annoying .

Postal is starring the Postal Dude ( Zack Ward ), a good guy, I guess, who is cheated by his wife (a morbidly obese, for some reason) and who suffers, in general, from bad luck. After accidentally murdering a bum in the street, he ends up meeting with the cult leader, Uncle Dave ( Dave Foley… what are you doing here? ), And they are involved in a plot that includes George W. Bush Osama Bin Laden, Verne Troyer, to Uwe Bol himself, proclaiming that he owns Nazi gold, and to a new toy that is shaped like testicles. Because obviously.

Maximum ridiculousness

When deciding to make a satire with Postal , Boll took his job quite seriously . After all, he makes fun, in a disgusting and cruel and exaggerated way, of all kinds of people and institutions: Democrats, Republicans, Asians, African Americans, homosexuals, Arabs, Jews, small people, fat people, Nazis ... basically, everyone . And having so many goals and making so many jokes, logically not everything works. In fact, Postal feels more cruel than anything else , politically incorrect and vulgar because it can be, not because it has something interesting to say. Boll goes from joke to joke and from objective to objective without rhythm or reason, interested only in teaching us scenes of bad taste in the most absurd way possible.

However, I must admit that I laughed a few times while watching Postal , perhaps only because of how shocking the movie turns out to be. Most spectators will laugh awkwardly when they see it; the film causes grace because it surprises, because it leaves one alarmed, not necessarily because it develops its gags well or because it makes intelligent parodies. It is not a film whose sense of humor is going to make a good impression, but at least it manages to entertain - in a brave, disgusting, violent way - which is more than can be said of Boll's previous tapes.

And yes, Postal is very violent . There are no sacred cows here. Boll shoots terrorists, police, children, everyone. He doesn't care about anything. There are free nudes (again, why, Dave Foley?), Disgusting characters, lots of blood, explosions and bad words everywhere. It is entertaining? I guess so, but at the end of the movie, I felt dirty, uncomfortable . Taking a good shower is almost mandatory after seeing Postcard .

Only for strong stomachs

Zack Ward doesn't do a bad job like the Postal Dude, I must admit it . He has never been a bad actor; From his most famous role (the bully of A Christmas Story ) to his small appearances in notable blockbusters , Ward has always managed to make a good impression. Here, she is clearly having a great time, being as politically incorrect as possible, killing people everywhere, exploiting things and saying bad words. It doesn't hurt , which considering the movie that I'm writing about, is quite an achievement. The rest of the cast seems to be doing bad imitations of familiar characters , but they go well with the style of the film. Postcard has a series of cameosUnexpectedly small smiles, from Boll himself, to JK Simmons (what, WHAT?), Michael Paré, Seymour Cassel, David Huddleston, Verne Troyer, and more.

Postal is a bad movie based on a lousy video game . As a satire it works halfway, and as a comedy I only managed to extract a couple of smiles, but at least I can admit that it has more balls and more ambitions than all previous Boll films together. It is unpleasant - the first scene, an inappropriate parody of September 11, prepares one immediately for everything that will follow - vulgar, violent, and stupid ... but with all that and more, it is the best thing you have ever done Boll If you want to be shocked for a while, see Postal . When it comes to bad video game movies, it's not the worst they can find .

With Postal, Boll clearly set out to make history's most offensive, hateful movie. As is his custom, he failed spectacularly.

Postal strikes me as marginally superior to Morgan Spurlock's merely boneheaded Where in the World Is Osama bin Laden? But that's like saying Moe is smarter than Curly.

AT last: Uwe Boll has made his first intentionally funny film.

Boll, the German director of shlocktastic video-game-themed movies, seems to be relishing the current Internet campaign to get him to cease and desist. He earns more votes with a War on Terror satire whose opening scene sets a new standard in tastelessness.

Two hijackers bicker about how many virgins are actually being set aside for them in heaven, suspecting that they might get swindled and thus would be better off steering the plane to the Bahamas. The scene underlines the still-amazingly moronic nature of the belief system of Islamist fanatics, but it’s amusing only to a point – and that point is when Boll cuts to the plane smashing into the World Trade Center.

Boll goes on to show Dave Foley – sweet Dave Foley, of “NewsRadio”! – using the toilet right before our eyes. He’s a homegrown religious nut, a charlatan cult leader who, along with some top-heavy female commandos out of a Russ Meyer movie, gets caught up in a mission to find Osama bin Laden, who is hiding in plain sight at an American management seminar about mastering those alpha-male leadership skills.

Being intentionally offensive and occasionally funny in its gonzo “Naked Gun”-style tactics, “Postal” strikes me as marginally superior to Morgan Spurlock’s merely boneheaded “Where in the World Is Osama bin Laden?” But that’s like saying Moe is smarter than Curly.
Running time: 99 minutes. Rated R (raunchy humor, profanity, violence).

The German Mr. Boll and the Canadian Mr. Knight seem to want to comment on American culture, but their bystander perspectives clearly do nothing to inform them how to maximize their material.

On its face, "Postal" seems to be a relevant slapstick satire despite the fact that it has been awaiting its American release for nearly a year. Like "Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay," Uwe Boll's new film is a politically incorrect farce "inspired" by the aftermath of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. If that doesn't raise a big enough red flag, the film also boasts the Canadian Dave Foley as a Warren Jeffs-esque polygamist cult leader, as well as a Sean Bell redux in the form of a police officer gunning down an unarmed Asian woman in her car because she doesn't know how to drive. Mr. Boll — who is often called the world's worst film director — and his writing partner, Bryan Knight, show true foresight in encapsulating so much of today's pop culture from the vantage point of a year ago.

The religious cult of Uncle Dave (Mr. Foley) and the Taliban both covet the latest must-have toy, known as Krotchy dolls, which apparently fetch $4,000 apiece. Uncle Dave hopes to secure the dolls and then unload them to pay off the IRS. But the Taliban has discovered that the dolls make great carriers of weapons of mass destruction. So a jihad is imminent for the two religious groups.

For a small film getting a limited release, "Postal" has eye-popping special effects and an impressive cast of D-list actors that includes Mini-Me, Verne Troyer. The film is mildly amusing at times. Terrorists fixate on spending their afterlife deflowering virgins. President Bush (Brent Mendenhall) and Osama bin Laden (Larry Thomas) exchange dialogue from "Brokeback Mountain." But a massacre of children pushes the odious factor far beyond "Escape From Guantanamo Bay" and even "South Park," and into the just plain offensive. The German Mr. Boll and the Canadian Mr. Knight seem to want to comment on American culture, but their bystander perspectives clearly do nothing to inform them how to maximize their material.

If this movie had been made by an unknown young director, a lot of critics would still be panning the movie for its inconsistencies -- but many others would be praising his courage.
Postal: Comedy. Starring Zack Ward, Dave Foley, J.K. Simmons and Verne Troyer. Directed by Uwe Boll. (R. 116 minutes. At the Roxie Film Center in San Francisco.)

It's no exaggeration to say that Uwe Boll is the most openly despised filmmaker of his generation. Another director may have put together a string of movies hated as much by the media as "BloodRayne," "Alone in the Dark" and "House of the Dead." But no one else would even think to set up a boxing match so he could pound on five of his critics as revenge.

Boll's films have been so despised that the idea of reviewing them has become all but moot. A new Boll film becomes less of a piece of art to be judged subjectively than a foregone conclusion - a cinematic pinata to test a writer's ability to write a snarky rant warning moviegoers against seeing whatever new atrocity the director has managed to get released in theaters.

So what to do with "Postal," which is not only less than horrible, but actually occasionally enjoyable? The much-delayed low-budget movie may be completely beyond the bounds of mainstream taste, but it's also funny, and criticizes our government's hypocrisy and political correctness in a way that's refreshingly pointed. If this movie had been made by an unknown young director, a lot of critics would still be panning the movie for its inconsistencies - but many others would be praising his courage.

You know it's gonna be terrible when you see Boll's name on the poster. It was actually better than I expected, I had a few laughs. It stayed true to the notorious video game of the same name, being a massive fan of the game, I was actually satisfied with Boll's writing and direction.

The only thing remotely funny about this "cinematic" crap is the fact that Uwe Boll says he finances his films with Nazi gold. A fact in which it is probably true.

OMG this movie is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO fuckin' stupid!!! I hate Uwe Boll he can never make a good movie. This is the most unfunniest shit I have ever seen, just as unfunny as Less Grossman. Its like South Park without Trey Parker and Matt Stone or without no humor.

"Dear Uwe Boll. It appears that every time you make a serious movie, it feels like a comedy. Is there any way you feel that you could help separate these genres?" asked a generic commenter. Afterwords, Mr. Boll had a brilliant idea, for once. To actually make a comedy. For those very few people to have ever had the pleasure to play the very controversial video game, like me, this is somewhat of a gem. Every little square inch of Paradise City has been recreated in a way that can only be described as perfect. Everything, from the nosy homeless people to the very busy banking offices, has been realized to the point of crazy. The story follows a man (played by Zack Ward) as he and his uncle (played by Davie Foley) try to steal a batch of plush toys from an amusement park. But at the same time, Osama BinLadin is also trying to steal them. If that's not the most stupid plot you have ever heard, please comment here. If not, then.... Mister (or Miss), you are a better man (general term) than I. All stupid aside, if you played the game, you're in for a treat. If not, you'll probably hate this movie with all your heart. My thoughts don't really count, though. I'm not really a professional.

If you're offended by the opening scene where the 9/11 hijackers change their mind, only to have the plane crash into the north tower by passengers trying to "save the day" then don't watch this. If you have a sick sense of humor, then this movie should be right up your alley. It's just an out there movie, with insanely offensive things for no reason that are somewhat clever if you can get by how offensive it is. Example, the coffee shop Grind Zero, etc. The lady who gets hit by a car is the best scene I've ever seen, and people getting hit by cars/buses is always funny. Don't mind that Uwe Boll made this movie, it's actually good. What is the difference between a duck?

I have to say that this had some good ideas and was funnier than your average Wayans but Boll has a very strange sense of humour which made me feel quite uncomfortable at times so the good bits were overpowered by the quesy feeling i started to get from about the point that Boll actually appeared in screen. Until then it was a passable farce in the style of Cannonball run etc...What i'd like to know is how the hell did he get class actors like JK Simmons to appear in the film?!?!
